The June holidays are tempting because it is time for many to take a complete break.
We all know how much students look forward to the end of the school semester.
More importantly though, the June holidays provide for a GOLDEN opportunity, more so than any other time of the year, for students to take full advantage of to get a HEADSTART for Maths.
I personally remember during my school days that I always looked forward to June. In fact, the very first time I started to implement a Maths learning system was in June, when I was free from the rigours of learning new topics. June provided me with a breath of fresh air and most importantly, space for me to self-reflect and patch up any gaps I had in my knowledge.
June:
-is a time when students are free from the regular long school hours.
-is a time when a new revised study plan can be acted on.
-is a time where self, independent learning can be done at any time in the day.
June presents a GOLDEN opportunity to get to a newer and better place for Maths
The reverse is also true… that when a child forsakes his or her Maths plan & does self-entertaining activities instead i.e. gaming, social media, doodling, unnecessary time wastage going for outings etc., he or she will continue to struggle and ultimately under-perform for Maths.
There is unfortunately, no magic formulas for Maths.
There are systems, methods and techniques that are available for use.
These can only work if one repeatedly practices using the systems, methods and techniques. Just like if we have a useful tool such as a car. But an untrained person will be unable to drive the car(useful tool) successfully.
Same applies for Maths!
June is our best friend when it comes to Maths success. Use it wisely and you will be rewarded. Use it negatively, and June will be the enemy…
